Financials
We're running in the black. We have enough in reserve to pay our bills for the next 2.5 years even if all our members disappeared.
The Investment Committee hasn't met so won't be changing anything.
Current Members: 84
3 more were added last Tuesday
Typically Open Houses have been seeing between 1 and 5 visitors per night. One exceptional night had 12.
Recently newer members seem to be more likely to participate, but don't stay as long as members used to.
Space Clean Up Nights are still struggling to have enough people.
Tool Area Updates
3D Printing
2 new Prusas were purchased this month. They're almost twice as fast and come with easier-to-change nozzles. Prints can now be started from any local computer, not just the slicer in the 3D Printing room. The older Prusas will be sold.
Prusa introduced an enclosed Core model this month. The Stewards will look at it but probably wouldn't buy it for another 6 months.
Lasers
Stewards are working on new Prairie Meadows grant application for a newer, better laser.
Stewards planning to purchase new laser tube soon.
Metal Shop
The rotary phase converter is now working!
Therefore the metal mill runs, but isn't ready for member use.
The surface grinder now also runs.
Wood Shop
Stewards Chris and Isaiah keep fighting the good fight to keep it clean and well maintained.
Stained Glass Area
A member made a frame for a stained glass work bench to go in the Electronics room. Unfortunately, that person is no longer a member and the bench isn't finished. Chris said he'd help get that finished. Bailey said she'd give him the dimensions.
Auto Shop
Will get busy starting in February, so if you want time on the lift better contact Dave soon.
CNC
Jake is building a Milomill using some of our old, leftover CNC parts. His plan is to use it to build a second Milomill specifically for the space. Milomill is an open source machine for cutting soft metals.
Textiles
There's a knitting machine for sale for the low, low price of: you have to take all the books that go with it. (translation: it's free)

Miscellaneous
Space Work Nights are the third Thursday of every month. A year ago some suggested creating a Sunday night shift as well, for the people who can't make it on weeknights. That Sunday shift is still in need of someone to organize it.
There is an old K40 laser sitting in the classroom. It was donated to us several years ago. A member has first right of refusal on purchasing it. It will be sold eventually.

Meeting Adjourned
Old Joke: Why does a town never have just one lawyer? Answer: Because he or she would starve.
"Can you fit an F150 in the Auto Shop?" "Depends on how much you like your [side] mirrors."
