August 4, 2022 Meeting Minutes

Meeting held via Zoom August 4, 2022 at 4 PM

In attendance: Ryan Renze, Jake Leister, Meg Krajicek

Absent: None

Ryan Renze, Jake Leister and Meg Krajicek were appointed by the Board of Directors of Area 515 Des Moines Maker Space at a regular Board meeting on August 3, 2022.

Meeting was called to order at 4 PM.

Meeting agenda items and related discussion:

• Establish a regular meeting time for the newly formed investment committee

  • The investment committee will meet at 6:15 PM on the first Wednesday of the first month of each quarter.

  • It was proposed that we meet at 6:30 to allow Brad to get to 6:30 meeting by 6:40 and we decided on 6:15 PM.

  • Want to verify with by-laws that we can meet quarterly vs monthly. Meg will check.

• Discuss responsibilities of the investment committee per the investment policy

  • The committee reviewed the responsibilities of the committee as outlined per the investment policy.

• Discuss current investment objectives and purchase of I Bonds

  • Ryan Renze proposed purchase of Government Series I Bonds.

  • The committee discussed risks and rewards of Government Series I Bonds. All believe these are a favorable investment in line with objectives outlined in the investment policy.

  • The committee approved purchase of $10,000 of I Bonds with all members in attendance in favor of this proposal.

  • Treasurer Meg will facilitate purchase.
