Approval of Minutes from 2 Previous Meetings

Vote to approve the minutes of the August and September meetings.

Financials

  • The cost of our insurance went up $250

  • Our landlord has told us our rent will be increasing due to increasing property taxes

Current Members: 84

  • Brad still needs to request photos from members to add to the Current Members sheet.

Space Updates

  • Recently had a visitor from DSM woodworkers who was interested in collaborating

    • Matt will demo 3D printers and woodworking for him

    • He was very impressed by Matt's couplers

    • We might have a special Open House for DSM woodworkers sometime this winter or spring.

  • Lead CNC is very close to being ready for members to use again.

  • Don wants help running the cable for the additional security cameras

    • Dave and Don and maybe Jake also need to determine what to request to upgrade the security server

    • Planning to move the camera currently behind the wood storage rack to the hallway

Items for Member Meeting

  • Jason is working to select the music he'll play when he gets to leave the board so he is definitely not running for reelection.

  • Carlin said he'd only run if there's a need

  • After asking if they wanted to trade jobs, Dave and Jake decided to run for reelection in their current positions, and promptly nominated each other.

  • John and the CEC will hold a social get-together, Fall-themed popcorn and candybar thing at 2pm, the hour before the member meeting.

Meeting Adjourned

  • At the outset of the meeting, Brad was so hopped up on Mountain Dew that he spilled it all over the table.

  • In discussing how Carlin, in addition to being a full time knife maker, has 2 small kids to take care of... "You're busier than insert-your-colorful-metaphor-here"

  • When Brad attends a meeting remotely he wears a pair of noise muffling headphones. The result is that he only hears the meeting, but the microphone picks up his kids' activities... "It sounded like all holy hell was going on and you were sitting there like it was nothing." - Dave "Yes, those were the good old days." - Brad
