Financials

John created an admin account with, and setup direct deposit from, the organization which handles payments for volunteer hours. Although the direct deposit may not be available in time for the next 2 checks.
Membership Update: 85
Chris reached out to several Facebook groups asking if they would publicize our Open Houses.
On March 18th at 6pm, we'll host a special tour for a local chapter of the American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME).
Matt is working on a presentation to the local Wood Workers Club, which will be given on May 16th, 6-7pm. He'll be talking about ways to integrate 3D printing into wood working.
Chris asked to become involved as well.
We'll probably print some 3D swag to give away at the meeting, perhaps center finders.
Space Updates
Jake's new metal CNC mill is getting close to completion. He has all the components.
Unsurprisingly, Brad already requested training on it.
Chris will bring a new drum sander that Jake purchased, to the space.
The Wood Shop requests $1k for a helical head jointer for the 15" Jet planar. The Wood Stewards also discussed selling the Rikon jointer.
Request to purchase a helical head for the Jet planar for about $1k from general funds.

Vacuum Former Update: Brad finished making the lid, has purchased a plug for it, and is in communication with Jason about the wiring.
The newly purchased 3D printers are getting a lot of use.
The Enco mill (the Bridgeport-like mill purchased from Ryan) is now up and running! Caroline is training Dave on how to use it.
Auto Shop is getting a new transmission jack and 2 pull jacks. They're going to throw away the old floor transmission jack.
We received a second, smaller surface plate that has threaded inserts in it. Apparently the inserts make it not worth keeping so it may be sold.
Carlin collected his anvil and took one of the metal table bases from the courtyard as asked. There are still a few tables left in the courtyard to deal with.
Jake mentioned doing a slight remodel of the 3D Printing room.
We won't know if we got the Prairie Meadows grant until late summer.
Dave is in contact with a person who holds a Repair Day, they requested a video meeting.
A woman from the City of Des Moines Economic Development Office came and got a tour. She kindly offered to write about us in her newsletter.
Meeting Adjourned
"I propose we use Wing Dings" - Dave, after a brief discussion about using serif vs non-serif fonts to record meeting minutes.
At one point Jake's connection to the remote meeting was dropped and he had to log back on. "Jake is on AOL dial up. His Mom accidentally picked up the phone." - Dave "I'm running out of CD's!" - Jake
"If I shove an unfinished project under something else then it doesn't count." - said during a discussion about clean desks.
