  • Had some more potential members at last Open House
  • After the Board took disciplinary action against a member for repeated, unsafe use of the Metal Shop. Said member went to our landlord and asked to use our auto lift.
  • It was suggested that Troy become a Trainer or Steward in the Wood Shop. The matter was referred to the Wood Shop Tool Stewards.

Building Committee

  • Ryan talked briefly with a broker but the broker said they would need a lot more details about what we're looking for.
  • Jake mentioned there's a building just to the east of our present location that's been available for awhile. It has bay doors and lots of square footage.
  • The Building Committee has been doing things remotely and hasn't assembled an official meeting yet.

Space Updates

  • Christine Clark would like to hold 3 more meetings at the space. Her first was attended by 10 people, 2 of whom were not members.
    • John, or the CEC, said he would work on promoting the future meetings.
    • Ms. Clark did not make any money from the previous meeting. The idea of offering her a free month of two of rent was suggested.
  • Brad created an utterly brilliant, and inspiring redesign of the soldering stations. The Secretary is not biased about this at all.
  • MIG welder needs some repairs, including a new liner and fan. The incorrect tip size was used.
  • Both the Lead CNC and the Metal Lathe are operational.
  • Right now, only Caroline, Ward and Brad are trained to use the Metal Lathe
  • Jake has been buying pop for us. Thank you, Jake!
  • Brad, Carlin and Ryan are working to fix the water cooler on the right hand laser.
  • Don is working on the security cameras.

Meeting Adjourned

  • Did you know? Nitrogen gas in tires is a scam. To only fill your tire with nitrogen gas, you need to valves: one for nitrogen intake, and the other to purge the non-nitrogen gas already inside. Earth's air is 78% Nitrogen (Citation: https://climate.nasa.gov/news/2491/10-interesting-things-about-air/). Adding pure Nitrogen to the tires doesn't change the percentage in the tire very much.
  • Did you know? It's difficult to put effective AM radios inside electric vehicles because of all the shielding it requires around the car's electric parts.
